Josh Elliot won the British National Superstock 1000 Championship
previously and this year, like 2016 competed on the Tyco BMW Motorrad S1000r.
During the season Josh visited the podium twice with a 2nd
place in Silverstone and ended the year on a high with a 3rd in
Brands Hatch.
Josh was complimented during the year by being drafted into
the Tyco BMW Motorrad BSB team also and managed to score points even with
limited experience on the Superbike machinery. Josh made the trip to the Assen
round, where he raced with Tyco BMW stablemate, Christian Iddon.
Even with the hybrid season in both Superstock 1000 and full
on BSB, Josh still managed to finish 9th in the Pirelli National
Superstock series with a credible 118 points.
Josh had this to say after the last race in Brands Hatch:
“I’m delighted
to finish the season on the podium for myself and the Tyco BMW team. It was a
difficult weekend and qualifying 9th gave me a lot of work to do.
We made a
change for the race and it really made a big difference which gave me the
chance to push forward and challenge at the front. I battled my way through the
pack and took 3rd place on the last lap.
A massive
thank you to everyone in the Tyco BMW team for their relentless effort, and
Philip Neill for giving me the opportunity to ride for the last half of the
season. I really enjoyed being back and I hope to secure a full time ride for
next year.”
