Rookie SWANN SCORES MORE MOTO 3 POINTS AT A TOUGH SNETTERTON SPEED BOWL

  1. ROOKIE SWANN SCORES MORE MOTO 3 POINTS AT A TOUGH SNETTERTON SPEED BOWL
Just back from the 6th round of the British Championship Hell Performance MotoStar Moto3 Standard Class at Snetterton. It worked out another good weekend for Scott with two steady points scoring races and more racing experience gained in the very competitive Moto 3 class..
Not just as many points as Scott had hoped for, or the exact results that he now expects from himself, after a best scoring 5th place at the previous Knockhill round, but still good. Qualifying went well with 7th place and a 2min 06.6 second lap and about 2’s off the fastest in standard class. It was an eventful start to the first race with Scott getting caught up trying to avoid three crashes within the first four corners, which left him well back on the completion first lap and too much of a gap to the mid pack and the riders he wanted to be racing with. During the race he lost the tow of the group in front and settled into a lonely race and 9th place finish.

For the second race he got a slightly better start, but got blocked a little in the first few corners and again was back from the mid pack by the end of the first lap. After a lap or two he got into a race long scrap with another two riders Cameron Horseman and World Supersport 300 rider Luke Hopkins, passing each other every lap, Scott got past both with a few laps to go, but Luke Hopkins came back to just hold him off on the last lap to the line.  All in all there was some great racing and learning for the Rookie throughout the whole weekend and in the battle for the last few laps he got down to his best time of 2.06.6

Scott is now lying 8th in the Championship with 64 points and just 10 off a top 6 spot.

Scott said he was happy with his results at the very fast Snetterton Circuit and it’s long straights, "but with an engine refresh in the following three week break, i would like to be back a little further up the order for the next round at the Brands Hatch GP Circuit. Can’t wait."
