40th ENKALON TROPHY RACE - April 15th @ Bishopscourt
The 2017 Motorcycle Road Racing season gets under way on Easter Saturday 15th April at Bishopscourt Racing Circuit.
Competitors from all over Ireland, Scotland, England and Isle of Man will take part in the 40th Enkalon Trophy event.
Last year’s event had to abandoned after severe winds prevented our first attempt at running the 40th Enkalon Trophy race and we are hoping for more favourable weather this year with Easter falling in mid-April.
The Enkalon Trophy Races also double up as the first two rounds of the Ulster & Irish Championships, practice for all eight classes at 9am and racing from approximately from 11am.
With sixteen races on the program this will surely be a great day’s entertainment all for £10 admission per adult, under 16yrs accompanied f.o.c
Irelands top racer from short circuits and road races will be hoping to prevent the cross-channel visitors from taken the Enkalon Trophy back home. 2015 Trophy winner Derek Sheils looks like being a nonstarter as he has planned to get married. This leaves the door open to a new recipient of the trophy as none of the recent winners have entered.
The Enkalon Trophy once again is in association with Cornmarket Insurance Company and we are grateful to them and the Enkalon Club for their continued support.
The overall total prizefund for the two legs of the Enkalon Trophy races is £3600 with the winner collecting £1000, 2nd £600 and 3rd £400 payments down to 10th place.
The first Supersport finisher will collect £500.
Fastest lap by a Superbike £100 and fastest lap by a Supersport £100.
The event official charity will once again be Chest Heart & Stroke. The motorcycle racing fraternity are generous and we hope to raise this worthy charity much needed funds.
The event is also supported by Charles Hurst Hyundai Dundonald, Walter Bell Oil Fired Boilers, Slemish Water & Coolers.
Entries don’t close until the 1st April so competitors still have just over a week to secure their entry.
More competitor details to follow the closing date.
The race circuit will be open from Friday evening so anyone wishing to camp overnight are welcome all for the Saturday admission charge. Onsite facilities and catering available.
Plan early to come and see exciting thrilling motorcycle racing at one of the finest circuits in the UK!
