Rising Star: Aaron Clifford to BSB Stk600 class for 2017

Teenage Motorcycle Racing Star Aaron Clifford from Co. Meath is set for the biggest challenge of his career so far when he tackles the 2017 British National Superstock 600 Championship. Having raced as a wild card in two events last season Clifford will contest the full British Superbike Championship support series this year.

Having previously run as a privateer in the British Thundersport series and at home in Ireland, 2017 will be the first time for the reigning Masters Supersport Cup champion to run with a professional team as back up. The step up from Thundersport to the BSB is a big one but Aaron will have the experience of CPE Motorsport to call on to help him make that transition.

The new season kicked off last weekend at a cold and wet Mallory Park where the team and rider had a chance to familiarise themselves with each other prior to the first full test session which takes place at Cartagena, Spain this coming weekend. Following the Spanish trip there will be just three weeks before the season kicks off in earnest at Donington Park.

Speaking after his first ride with CPE Clifford said, “It was great to get back on a bike, even if it was very cold and wet at Mallory Park. We made good progress despite the weather which will help us as we move on to three days testing in Spain. I've no doubt the season will be tough but I'll give it my best and I'm really looking forward to Round 1 in Donington Park from March 31st to April 2nd.

A massive thanks have to go to my personal sponsors for making this possible. Noone Transport, Sean Murray, Dixon International, AKB Distribution, North Dublin Motorcycles, DMG Landscapes, Tarstone Road Maintenance, Retink Graphics, Curran Commercial Spraying, Megabikes Dubin, Maynooth Cycles and Mondello Park”.

Through 2017 Clifford will be looking to build on his two points scoring finishes as a wild card in 2016 and will be aiming to run in the top ten in the championship right from the off. The twelve event series will take him to all of the top British Circuits many of which he is familiar with from Racing in Thundersport.
