Carl Phillips determined to return to British Superbike paddock for 2017

2014 Adelaide Masters Series Supersport Champion, 2014 Irish Supersport Champion, and 2016 British Superbike Championship Pirelli Stock 600 runner up, Carl Phillips, has joined a growing list of riders without a seat in the BSB paddock so far for the 2017 season.

A growing trend in recent years where money rather than talent determines whether the best from this wee island can progress to and, more to the point, remain in the hugely competitive British Superbike Championship.

We've seen this before, Keith Farmer, Cody Nally to name a few but now with seasoned campaigner and multiple British Championship winner Alastair Seeley finding himself in this dilemma also, many are questioning what the future holds for our home grown talent?

As mentioned above, this years BSB Stock 600 championship runner up, Carl Phillips, now also faces the task, as does every rider, of finding upwards of £40K sterling or some very generous sponsors who can help raise a sizeable portion of this.

Carl Phillips:

"Contrary to what everyone may think I have not yet secured a ride for the 2017 season, a lack of available supersport rides & budget have made it difficult to make any deal with a BSB team....I know i have the skill and ability to mix it up with all the top boys and be a serious championship contender if i was given opportunity...However realistically I now have to look at other options perhaps competing in the Superstock 1000 class, one thing is for sure i am determined to stay in the BSB paddock and will not let all my hard work of this season go to waste!

As myself and Sandown Racing have now parted ways (a decision made by the team not myself) I am now looking for new sponsors to come onboard, this offers businesses advertising opportunities through various platforms...if anyone would be interested or would like to find out more then please get in touch!"

Carl, we wish you the very best in your efforts to return to the British Championships for next season and we hope that some sponsors recognise your talent and give you the support you need and deserve. A future British Champion.
