Ronnie Donnan Memorial Parade Laps for JAS Finlay Sunflower race meeting 2016

There will be 2 Parade Lap sessions for machines of yesteryear.

The Parade Laps will have 2 x 15 minute sessions.

This year’s Parade laps will be run in memory of the late Ronnie Donnan, who sadly passed away earlier this year, Ronnie, one of the real characters of our sport, was an avid supporter of the Parade Laps, not only here in Ireland abut also across the mainland as well. A former competitor in his younger day, his partner, Jenifer Davison is sponsoring the Parade Laps in memory of Ronnie Donnan.

This year will see some very exotic machinery in action.
John Chapman, well known in the Classic Scene, is bringing over 7 exotic bikes! Anyone who has been to the Classic TT, Scarborough etc., will understand the high standard of machinery this man owns.
Exotic machines are a real crowd puller, Old and young are mesmerised by the sounds of these fantastic machines, the multi cylinder Hondas, Yamahas, and the Legendary MV Augusta’s. Christened the “Italian National Anthem” by the IOM TT Commentators.

Who and what can we expect to see?

Here are just some of the machines and riders we can expect to see and hear.
AND, these guys won’t just be riding around, you WILL get to hear these machines at full revs!!

Multi IOM TT and Classic TT winner, Ian Lougher, will ride a 500 MV AGUSTA. Manx kingpin, Dan Kneen, will ride the RC 500 161 Honda 4, as ridden by John McGuinness, during the 2013 re-enactment of Hailwood and Agostini battles over the Mountain course. Former Irish road race and short circuit Champion, Adrian Craig, will forsake his McCelland 700 Yamaha, to ride the ex-Freddie Spencer 500 Honda. David Chapman, will ride the ex-Roger Burnett Rothmans 500 Honda.

From the local angle, Former Irish Superbike champion, and front runner in the British Super Cup Championships, ex-Team Green Kawasaki rider, Bangor’s Jamie Patterson, will give his ex-Kenny Roberts 500 Yamaha its first outing in Ireland.

Another former Irish Champion, and front runner in the Sunflower Feature races many years ago, flying in from his residence in Canada, just for this event, is George Farlow, who will be re united with his old RG 500 Suzuki.

First man to lap the IOM TT circuit at over 110mph on a 250machine and TT winner, Con Law will ride an ex-Steve Hislop RC30 Honda.

Other riders of note participating in the Parades will include, the quiet man of Irish road racing, Ray McCullough, Former Formula Two world champion Brian Reid, Former Irish Champions; Brian Hewitt, David Craig, Matthew Percy, Ray Murphy and Timmy Elwood but to mention a few.
