Report from Down Under ahead of this weekends Phillip Island Grand Prix
31-year-old Brendan Wilson made his debut outing last Friday at Victoria's Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit ahead of this weekends second round of the Victorian Road Racing Championship (VRRC) with the RTR by Moto Obsession team.
Wilson, who formally lived in Douglas, Cork City, said today was a positive day out on track as he managed to get down to a high 1min43 on a track which was quite cold in regards to tracktemperature.
"I managed to get down to a high 1 min 43, where my PB would be a high 41," said Wilson.
"So with colder temperatures I’m feeling ok with the time we managed to do.
We made some adjustments to the bike – soften the suspension so I felt a bit more comfortable. But when I went two seconds quicker the bike needed to be hardened back up again to clean up the rear Pirelli tyre.
Overall I’m happy about Friday. If it’s warmer next time I believe I’ll be able to push a bit more.”
